  1. What are the registration fees for the meeting: Early-bird, pre and on-site registration fees are available here.
  2. How do I register for the meeting: Starting March 2017 you may register by clicking HERE
  3. Early-bird registration: Early-bird registration ends on May 2017. After that date, you may register at the higher rate until 24 July 2017; thereafter registration will be charged at the on-site rate.
  4. Can I register on-site: You can register on-site either by doing so at the IPA help desk or by going on line and registering yourself. In both cases the on-site rate will apply.If you register through the help desk you will not be receive the online self service discount.
  5. Does the IPA limit attendance at the actual sessions: The IPA reserves the right to limit attendance at any session for safety, professional confidentiality or organizational reasons.
  6. I forgot my Username and/or Password so I cannot register: If you have forgotten your Username and/or Password, please go to the IPA website then click on the ‘my username’ link underneath the Login boxes. You will need to enter the email address you have registered with the IPA. Click 'Forgot my password' link. You will need to enter your IPA username, this was initially set as your email address but you may have personalised it; click 'Submit'. This will trigger an automatic email from the IPA containing your username or password to be found in the first line of the re-set email. IF YOU CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT YOU WILL BE TREATED AS A NON-MEMBER AND HAVE TO PAY THE NON-MEMBER RATE.

  8. Reserving sessions: A few sessions are ticketed, the majority are not. Please note the more popular sessions will reach room capacity quickly and you may wish to plan for an alternative.
  9. I want to register for a single session. Can I do that: No. The IPA exceptionally offers a single session registration for a family member and on condition that the room is not overly busy and is not otherwise restrained by confidentiality. If you wish to use this service, please contact the IPA at the on-site help desk during a quiet period during the day. Please provide as much information as possible to enable us to try and accommodate your request.
  10. I want to register for a Post-Panel Discussion Group: Pre registration of Post-Panel Discussion Groups is not necessary unless you want to be part of International Groups.  If you have not registered for International Groups, following each Keynote/Major Panel session, rooms will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will only be issued to people who have registered for International Groups prior to Congress. If you have registered for International Groups prior to Congress, post panel discussions will take the form of a private meeting for your allocated group.
  11. I changed my mind about my order. Can I make any changes to my registration: Please contact the IPA Congress team by email as soon as possible. We will try to help you change your session so long as the new one you select has not been sold out. If you wish to cancel a paid session and we cannot accommodate any change for you, then cancellation will be subject to the IPA cancellation policy.
  12. I can’t see the pre-Congress Working Party or IPA Committee Open Discussion that I want to join: For the Pre-Congress Working Parties or IPA Committee Open Discussions , you may choose one or more of each as part of the registration process (as long as they do not overlap time-wise). Because they are too numerous to be visible on a screen, you will see a vertical scroll-bar on the right hand side of each list during the registration process. Use this to move up and down to see all the options. 
  13. I’ve changed my mind about a Congress ticket I have bought: If you would like to change any of the additional options within your Congress registration or cancel your whole Congress registration, please email the IPA Congress team.
  14. My credit card has not been accepted: Credit card companies sometimes block transactions, because they see them as suspicious. The IPA’s card processor is based in the UK, but we are taking payment in US Dollars not British Pounds. Your card company may view your Congress transaction as unusual or stop it temporarily for a variety of reasons. Please contact your Credit Card provider and explain the transaction before registering, or before trying to register again.
  15. What is the IPA cancellation policy: All requests for refunds must be made in writing and sent to the IPA by email as soon as possible. An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted from all refund requests prior to 3 May 2017. After that date the administration fee will be $100 for all requests received before 1 July 2017. Thereafter all of the fee will be forfeit.



  16. Can I get my tickets in advance: No, all ticketing is done on site using our ticket printing kiosks. Please remember to bring your confirmation with you to use this self service system.
  17. How and when will I get my badge: Your badge will be printed on site when you get your tickets using the self service check in kiosks.
  18. What does my pass type give me access to: Everything except closed sessions. Please check your programme.
  19. What languages will be spoken at Congress: IPA languages and Portuguese will be used at Congress. Some sessions will be in Simultaneous Interpretation. Please check your Programme.
  20. Invitation letter/Visa application: If needed, a letter can be provided for you on request.
  21. When will the ticket system be open: The self service kiosks will be available from midday on Monday 24 July. We will endeavour to keep at least one kiosk open 24 hours.
  22. What are the hours for the help desk: The help desk will be open from 7:30 to 18:00 each day from Wednesday to Saturday. A reduced service will be made available on Monday and Tuesday. If your enquiry is not about ticket availability please try to attend the help desk during a quite period to enable us to prioritise on ticketing issues
  23. Can I pre-enrol for a session: Pre-enrolment is only available on certain sessions clearly identified in the ticket structure. All other sessions are run on a first come first served basis subject only to the session type not being identified as restricted.
  24. How do I know which sessions are eligible for CME credit: Sessions which are eligible for CME credit are listed in the Preliminary/Final Program with a CME icon next to the session title.
  25. When can I get a Certificate of Attendance: A self service kiosk will be made available from Thursday 27 July to print certificates of attendance. This service will only be available during the hours the help desk is open.


  26. When will I hear about my proposal: Acceptance/rejection letters for all proposals except Individual papers were sent between January 30 and February 28 2017.
  27. I am a speaker, panellist, presenter, discussant. Do I need to fill in a Conflict of Interest Declaration form: Yes. All active participants must disclose all relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest by completing a conflict of interest declaration form .
  28. As a Presenter, do I need to register and buy a ticket for the Congress: Yes. You can either buy a full congress ticket or day ticket.
  29. What is the role of the Chair: To introduce presenters and manage the time and discussion.
  30. How do the panels function: As a general guidance each submitter can organise his/her presentation as they wish, allowing at least 20' for discussion.
  31. I am a presenter of an Individual Paper. How does my session function: Please click here for Guidance notes on how your session will function.
  32. What resources does the IPA offer to speakers: We will endeavour to supply the resources you have requested in advance with your submission.
  33. What are the technical specifications for my Session? Room specifications vary. You will be able to review the audio-visual and room specifications for your Session upon being notified of acceptance.
  34. Can I bring a guest to attend my Session: You may request a Session Pass for a family member to attend your Session which they can collect from the registration/help desk onsite.
  35. Will there be a Speaker Ready Room: There will be a Speaker Ready Room where you will be able to review your paper. You should aim to be there at least 15 minutes before your presentation starts.
  36. Will the IPA translate my presentation: No. A very limited number of sessions will be simultaneously translated, but, in general, the IPA will not be able to arrange translations of presentations. Translations, if desired, will need to be arranged by the presenter.
  37. Can I record or film my session: No. Certain sessions will be recorded and will be available on the IPA/IPSO websites.



  1. The main Congress venue or accommodation website won’t accept my credit card: Bookings at specially negotiated rates for accommodation will be available from early February on the IPA Website. If you are having any difficulty with booking a Hotel in Buenos Aires, please write to the IPA’s contact Travelmark congresos@travelmark.com
  2. I’m having difficulties with another hotel: If you are having any difficulty with booking at another hotel in Buenos Aires, listed on our website, please contact  Travelmark congresos@travelmark.com , appointed by the IPA to handle reservations at a range of places in the city.
