PACE work in Morocco, Africa

In collaboration with the humanitarian organisation High Atlas Foundation, PACE provides psychological support to members of their staff working with communities affected by the devastating earthquake in the region. This collaboration began in 2024 with the programme “Education for Workers,” designed for professionals and volunteers engaged in healthcare, education, and community services. The programme aims to strengthen the psychological resources of those involved in helping roles so that they may more effectively support the affected population. It consists of online theoretical–practical seminars, each lasting an hour and a half, addressing the emotional and psychological impact of emergency situations while providing participants with opportunities to reflect on their field experience.

Topics addressed in 2024 included t
rauma and post-traumatic processes, the emotional world of children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, and support groups for volunteers and professionals engaged in helping roles. The collaboration continues in 2026 with seminars addressing issues emerging from the ongoing post-disaster context. Morocco, Africa, delivered by analysts from different parts of the world specialists with expertise in the relevant areas. The first seminar was held in February, with 15 professionals and volunteers involved in community and humanitarian assistance.
