PACE work in Turkey, Europe

Following the earthquake in Turkey, PACE established immediate contact with the two psychoanalytic societies in Istanbul and shared specialized bibliographic resources on psychoanalytic work in situations of crisis and disaster. In April 2023, collaboration began with the Istanbul Psychoanalytic Society through the creation of three groups composed of candidates, and comprising two Work Discussion Groups and one Reflection Group. These groups of six to eight participants met online fortnightly for an hour and a half, offering a space for participants to reflect on their clinical and institutional experiences in the aftermath of the earthquake, while exploring the emotional impact of working with populations affected by such a catastrophic event.

An important outcome of this collaboration has been the development of a PACE-inspired initiative within society, based on the experience gained through our joint work.
