Late Freud?

What do we mean by Late Freud? How to delimit this period of his production and why do it in the way proposed?

This text is divided into two parts. The first declares first of all the intention to 'put to work' the idea that Civilization and its Discontents (1930) is to be considered a turning point and opens a season of thought identifiable as the late Freud.

In the second, some issues of special importance are discussed in the light of the starting point. It therefore constitutes an attempt to think again Freudian theory by organizing it by referring to the elements, taken from Freud's work, which found the psychical constitution. This is a notion that he introduces into Civilization and its Discontents and which lends itself well to orienting a work of thinking again his entire work.
