We are living in a fast-changing world, which challenges the psychoanalytic ideals of reflection and time for thought.  How do these changes affect the mind, our technique, and our consulting rooms?

Introduction
Taking into account your responses to the ‘Call for Ideas’, we have identified a number of sub-themes that may interest you when you send in a proposal to the Boston Congress Scientific Programme Committee.  Our main objective is to have a Congress where you have an opportunity to work in depth on contemporary issues, to discuss with colleagues the challenges we face in our clinical practice, and to determine which answers fit best with psychoanalytic theory.

Decisions Timeline
The deadline for us to receive all proposals is 7 September 2014.

A decision will be made on the acceptance or non-acceptance of all proposals, except Individual Papers, by 30 November 2014.
A decision will be made on the acceptance or non-acceptance of all Individual Papers by 8 February 2015.
Registration for the Congress and accommodation booking at specially-negotiated rates will open in early 2015.

Important Information
IPA Congresses normally receive far more proposals than there is room for at the Congress so please be aware that many high-quality proposals may regretfully have to be declined.

Even though you may send in any number of proposals, the PC will follow the longstanding policy of generally limiting each participant to one activity in the programme. Therefore, if you include a colleague in your proposal who is in another activity accepted for the Congress that colleague may be asked to step down from involvement in your activity.

Simultaneous interpretation will be available for selected activities at the discretion of the Programme Committee. Please do not request simultaneous interpretation for your proposal.

Please be aware that the IPA will not pay for any paper you propose to be translated or copied in connection with the Congress.
