The Frances Tustin Memorial Trust invites and encourages submission of an outstanding and original essay that explicates, expands and/or extends the seminal work of Frances Tustin in the area of the psychoanalytic treatment of primitive mental states, in general, and of autistic spectrum disorders, in particular, in children, adolescents or adults. The paper should not have been previously published. The paper must be no more than 5000 words (excluding references) and must be submitted in English. The deadline for submission is April 1st, 2019. The body of the e-mail, to which the paper is attached, shall contain a separate document with a short abstract of the paper (no more than 200 words), containing the title of the paper, the name of the author, his/her contact information (author’s name, email address, phone number, office/residence address), a brief biographical statement  and any other communication to the Trust desired by the author. The paper itself must be completely cleansed of anything that would identify the author, this in order to insure fairness in choosing the awardee. Papers should be submitted to [email protected]

Papers received before the deadline of April 1st, 2019 are read and evaluated by the Board of Trustees on the basis of relevance to the work of Frances Tustin, the originality of the material presented and clarity of argument and clinical presentation. After discussing the papers, the most outstanding paper is selected, by a vote of the Board of Trustees, to receive the Prize.

The awardee will receive a 1000 US dollars prize and will be invited to present at The Frances Tustin Memorial Lecture at Tel Aviv University, Israel on November 15th, 2019. The FTMT Lecture is an all-day conference co-sponsored by the Frances Tustin Memorial Trust along with The Program of Psychotherapy, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University.
