Sélika Acevedo de Mendilaharsu (1920-2017)
Physician, Neurologist, Founding Member of the Society of Neurology and Neurosurgery, professor emeritus of the Faculty of Medicine, former President and Honorary Member of the Uruguayan Psychoanalytical Association, passed away on 22 September 2017 in Montevideo, Uruguay. Madeleine Baranger (1920 - 2017)
One of the first members of the Argentine Psychoanalytic Association and a founder of the Uruguayan Psychoanalytical Association and of the Revista Uruguaya de Psicoanálisis. Together with her husband, Willy Baranger, she was one of the most prominent and influential psychoanalysts of the second half of the 20th Century. Mrs Sharon Riva Raeburn (25th January 1947 – 22nd January 2017)

Sharon Raeburn was a founding member of the British Psychoanalytic Association and its first President.  She was also a Training Analyst and Supervisor of the Association. Read more.


 

Paul Ornstein (4 April 1924 – 19 January 2017)

Graduate of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis, Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis at the University of Cincinnati Medical School, Supervising Analyst at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and prominent leading figure in psychoanalytic self-psychology. Distinguished member and one of the most influential founders of the Danish Psychoanalytical Society, and member of the IPA House of Delegates from 1999 to 2004, Henning Paikin passed away on 2 January 2017 at the age of 81.
