The Psychoanalytic Society of Mexico, a Component Society of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), was founded in 1972 as the Mexican Psychoanalytic Studies Group.
Since its inception, the Psychoanalytic Society of Mexico has been concerned with the teaching and application of psychoanalysis. It has organised many international conferences, symposia, study groups and cultural associations throughout the country. At the same time, it has contributed to the activities of other related groups, either as an institution or through the individual participation of its members.
