52 years have passed since the Japan Psychoanalytic Society joined the International
Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), which officially represents and continues to support and develop Freudian psychoanalysis. Our Society supports the rules and regulations of the IPA , under which it engages in a diverse range of domestic and international activities.
Our Society has a separate department for practicing psychoanalytic psychotherapy that does not necessarily entail a four-times-a-week treatment. This is because there are patients who opt to undergo treatment less than four times a week, and who indeed benefit from such less frequent treatments.
The Japan Psychoanalytic Society endeavours to make every effort to contribute to the further development of psychoanalysis in Japan, to meet the needs of patients who seek psychoanalytic treatment, and to play a part on the international stage.
