Founded in 1926, the Paris Psychoanalytic Society (SPP) has the status of a non-profit organisation, with its resources coming from membership dues, donations and legacies. The SPP is a recognized association of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA).
The SPP now has about 800 active members registered among the alumni of the Institute of Psychoanalysis. They are Full Members or Associate Members. Members exercising the functions of trainers are elected from the Fellowship.
