The Moscow Psychoanalytic Society (MPS), traces its history to 1988, officially registered in 1995.
In 2005 the Moscow Psychoanalytic Society acquired the status of a Training Group (Study Group) of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) . In 2011, the organisation acquired the status of Provisional Society and as part of the IPA. MPS is also part of the European Psychoanalytical Federation (EPF) . Most members of the MPS combine psychoanalytic practice with teaching and/or research activities in universities and academic institutions.
The objectives of our society are to create in Russia professional psychoanalytic training and dissemination of psychoanalytic practice, and maintain the relevant standards of the International Psychoanalytical Association. We strive to create a space for dialogue between representatives of different schools of psychoanalytic cultures.
